Racing action returned to the Murray County Speedway this past Friday night. All of the usual IMCA classes as well as the pickups were on hand and the races were sponsored by Miller Sellner of Slayton
S&S Electric MCRA Pickups
8 trucks made the call for the 8 lap feature with Cole Hoogland leading the field to the green. On the start, Jim Gertsema took the race lead. Matt Odom quickly got to second and began to challenge. Behind them, Jordan Rolling made his way to third and looked to join the battle. Rolling was able to take second from Odom and looked to challenge Gertsema. After a late caution, Rolling took the race lead. Gertsema stayed close and challenged, but problems for Gertsema brought out the caution. On the restart, Rolling kept the lead and went on to take the feature win. TjGertsema took second, Dan Jensen took third, and John Platt took fourth.
Plaid Moose Café IMCA Sport Compact
11 cars made the call for the 12 lap feature with Jay Devries leading the field to the green. On the start, Devries took the race lead. Behind him, there was a 4 car battle for second. Kent Miller secured second and looked to challenge. After an early caution, Devries kept the lead. Behind him, Kaytee Devries challenged Miller for second. Kaytee Devries secured second and looked to challenge for the lead. Jay Devries took home the feature win. Kaytee Devries finished second, Kent Miller finished third, and Dylan Schreier finished fourth.

14 cars made the call for the 15 lap feature with Silas Top leading the field to the green. On the start, Ernie Dailey took the race lead. Behind him, Randy Fischer and Derek Platt fought for second. Fischer secured and looked to challenge for the lead. Fischer was able to pass Dailey for the race lead. Eric Gillette followed and took second and began to challenge Fischer for the lead. Gillette made the pass and took over the race lead. Eric Gillette went on to take the feature win. Derek Platt finished second, Cory Probst finished third, and Chad Lonneman finished fourth.

12 cars made the call for the 15 lap feature with Tanner Gregoire leading the field to the green. On the start, Eric Bassett took the race lead. Jeremy Van Ede quickly got to second and began to challenge for the lead. Behind them, Travis Vanden Top and Tony Rialson battled for third. Van Ede was able to make the pass and take the race lead. Vanden Top and Rialson quickly battled Bassett for second. Problems for Vanden Top gave Rialson third. A late caution forced a Green-White-Checkered finish. On the restart, Van Ede kept the lead and went on to take the feature win. Tony Rialson finished second, Eric Bassett finished third, and Jim Horejsi finished fourth.
Car Toyz Stock Cars
9 cars made the call for the 18 lap feature with Gary Mattison leading the field to the green. On the start, Jim Larson took the race lead. Dustin Larson quickly got to second and began to challenge for the lead. After an early caution, Dustin Larson took the race lead. Jim Larson stayed close and challenged. However, Dustin Larson was able to pull away from the field. Behind him, Kevin Debaere secured third and began to battle for second. Debaere was able to secure second and looked to reel in the leader. He would run out of time and Dustin Larson went on to take the win. Kevin Debaere finished second, Jim Larson finished third, and Dan Mackenthun finished fourth.

13 cars made the call for the 20 lap feature with Bruce Egeland led the field to the green. On the start, Ed Leonard took the race lead. Steve Bents got to second and quickly challenged for the lead. After an early caution, Leonard kept the lead. Tyler Limoges quickly got to second and began to challenge for the lead. Limoges made the pass and took over the lead. Behind him, Clint Hatlestad got to second and looked to challenge. Tyler Limoges went on to take the feature win. Clint Hatlestad finished second, Jeremy Smith finished third, and Steve Bents finished fourth.
Racing Action will return next week featuring the same classes plus the Late Model Street Stocks will return. It is championship night so racing should be action packed. The races will be sponsored by MVTV Wireless
