Racing action returned to the Murray County Speedway this past Friday night. It looked like weather might play a factor early on in the day, but it passed and it ended up being a nice night for racing action. All of the usual classes were in attendance and eager to get the racing action underway.
S&S Electric MCRA Pickups
It didn’t take long for action to start in the pickup class. During the heat race, contact between Scott Stirn and TJ Gertsema resulted in Gertsema rolling his truck a few times. On the start, Odom took the race lead. Gertsema stayed close for a majority of the race and challenged for the lead. In the end, Odom was able to hold on to take the feature win just barely holding off Jim Gertsema who finished a close second. Dan Jensen finished third, and Cole Hoogland finished fourth.
Plaid Moose IMCA Sport Compact
Next to take the track were the Sport compacts. Six cars made the call for the 10 lap feature with Josh Stanley and Justin Van Dewalle led to the green. On the start, Stanley took the race lead. Trevor Holm finished second, John Ross finished third, and Adam Snyder finished fourth.

Jim Horejsi finished second, Dan Paplow finished third, and Danny Myrvold finished fourth.
