A Possible IMCA First at the Murray County Speedway
Racing action returned to the Murray County Speedway this past Friday night. There was potential history on the line this week as there were two drivers looking for accomplish an impressive feat. Cory Probst and Dustin Larson were both looking to capture their 100th IMCA win. If they both were able to accomplish this, it would be the first time two separate drivers got their 100th wins on the same night. The races were sponsored by Marthaler Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge out of Worthington, MN.
S&S Electric MCRA Pickups
Seven trucks made the call for the feature win Dustin Gransee and Cole Hoogland leading to the green. On the start, Gransee took the lead. Hoogland quickly challenged for the lead. Neil Forsberg secured third and began to challenge for second. Forsberg was able to make the pass for second and began to challenge for the lead. Behind him, Craig Gertsema got to third and looked to challenge for second. Forsberg was able to make the pass and take the race lead. Neil Forsberg went on to take the feature win. Dustin Gransee finished second, Craig Gertsema finished third, and Cole Hoogland finished fourth.
Plaid Moose IMCA Sport Compact
Leading seven cars to the start of the A feature with Thad Gunnink and Josh Stanley. On the start, Stanley took the race lead. Joe Bunkofske got to second and quickly challenged for the lead. Dustin Virkus secured third and challenged for second. After an early caution, Stanley kept the race lead. Virkus secured second and began to challenge for the lead. Virkus was able to make the pass for the race lead and quickly pulled away. Dustin Virkus went on to take the feature win. Josh Stanley finished second, Joe Bunkofske finished third, and Brock Klaith finished fourth.
Wyffels Hybrids and Independent Ag IMCA Hobby Stock
Next up, featured the first of two drivers looking for win 100, as Cory Probst was looking to accomplish this feat. Twelve cars made the call for the feature with Matt Hanson and Derek Platt leading to the green. On the start, Hanson took the race lead. Brad Snyder took second and quickly challenged for the race lead. Eric Gillette made his way to third and joined in the battle. Contact between Snyder and Gillette brought out the caution. Gillette was charged with the caution and was sent to the back. On the restart, Hanson kept the race lead. Trevor Holm made his way to second and began to challenge for the lead. Cory Probst made his way to third and began to challenge Holm. John Ross joined the battle, but problems for Ross brought out a late caution. On the restart, there was contact up in the front of the pack resulting in Cory Probst being charged with a caution and sent him to the back. On the restart, Hanson kept the lead. Matt Hanson went on to take the feature win. Trevor Holm finished second, Cory Probst battled back and finished third, and Adam Snyder finished fourth.
Cars Limited IMCA Sport Modified
Ten cars made the call for the feature with Danny Myrvold and Trevor Gunnick leading to the green. On the start, Myrvold took the race lead. Jim Horejsi quickly took second and began to challenge for the lead. After an early caution, Myrvold kept the race lead. Tony Rialson secured second. Horejsi tried to take the spot back, but Rialson kept second and challenged for the lead. Rialson was able to make the pass and took over the race lead. Tony Rialson went on to take the feature win. Danny Myrvold finished second, Jim Horejsi finished third, and Cole Bents finished fourth.
Cartoyz IMCA Stock Cars
The IMCA Stock Cars were next for their A Feature, with Dustin Larson turn to try and capture his 100th win in the 18 lap feature. Shaun Bruns and Zachary Foesch led to the green flag. On the start, Bruns jumped out to the early lead. Dustin Larson wasted no time and quickly found his way up to second and began to challenge for the lead. After an early caution, Bruns kept the lead. Larson quickly challenged for the lead. Larson was able to make the pass and took over the race lead. Behind him, Levi Feltman began to challenge for second. Nick Johansen joined in the battle for second. After a late caution, Larson kept the lead. Bruns and Feltman battled for second. The two ran out of time as Dustin Larson went on to take the feature win and capture his 100th IMCA feature win. Shaun Bruns finished second, Levi Feltman finished third, and Nick Johansen finished fourth.

O’Reilly Auto Parts IMCA Modified
Last up were the modifieds. Twelve cars made the call for the feature win Bruce Egeland and Jay Triplett leading to the green. On the start, Triplett took the race lead. Aaron Krohn quickly got to second and began to challenge for the lead. Jeremy Smith joined the battle for the lead. Smith got a great run and was able to overtake both cars and took over the race lead. After an early caution, Smith kept the lead. Jesse Rogotzke and Tyler Limoges battled for third. Limoges secured third and looked to challenge Krohn for second. Jeremy Smith went on to take the feature win. Aaron Krohn finished second, Tyler Limoges finished third, Dalton Magers finished fourth.
