This Friday, Aug 16th, is our Deboer Chevrolet of Edgerton fair night. We cannot make up all the features on Friday due to the band playing at the fair and we would like to get the fans out to enjoy the music as well as the midway. We are saddened to announce that we are cancelling the races for this Saturday Oct 5th. With the amount of rain we have received this week with no drying weather in the forecast plus more rain Friday night into Saturday morning and the high in the low 50's with 30 mph winds it's just not good racing weather. Couple of reminders for the drivers. If you want to enter your car into the virtual car show contest, please submit the car pictures by Thursday. There has been 20 drivers that have submitted their pictures, hope to have a few more. The big important reminder, since opening night is just a little more than a month away, (HOPEFULLY), is all the paperwork that needs to be completed. The speedway has add a new weigh scale and pad to the tech area. Will be a nice addition for weighing and taking any measurements needed

Hopefully, the speedway will get back to having some races, when - who knows. We will be definitely have social distancing of some form. Which means the first night could be very hectic at the back gate. Because of this and the safety of the back gate workers, the speedway will be requiring all paperwork be done either by electronic or by calling in to have the registration completed. We would like to thank the Murray County Commissioners and Justin Hoffman, the City of Slayton and it's residents for allowing us to have two days of test n tune this past weekend. We had 40 cars take laps. It was a little bit of normalcy in these times that we are in. We would like to thank all the drivers that sent us pictures of their cars for our virtual car show. We count on fans, concession and beer sales to pay expenses and payouts. We also feel it is not fair and right to our sponsors and advertisers, and sponsors on cars, if we do not have fans in the stands. The Murray County Speedway will begin their 2020 season on Friday June 12. The Speedway has worked with the Murray County Commissioners and Administrator and the MN State Heath Inspector, to have races this night. However, there will be no fans in the grandstand, but will allow vehicles to park in the infield of the track.
