We are just over a week away from the 2023 banquet. It is on Saturday December 9th at Key Largo on Lake Shetek. Social hour is at 5:30, meal is at 6:30 with the awards at 7:30. The cost is $15 per person paid to Key Largo. Sturdevant's Auto Value of Slayton donated a Milwaukee 1/2" cordless impact which will be given away to one lucky driver who is attending the banquet, thank you Sturdevant's! Reserve Parking for the 2024 Season is now open. Drivers that had a spot in 2023, that attended more than 75% of those races will have 1st chance at their spot. These spots are only reserved for Friday night racing, all Sunday and Monday specials will not have reserved parking. Those spots that have been reserved already are in blue. It is with great sadness to share, that the Racing Association has lost one of it's Hall of Fame members. Jim Lange past away on Wednesday night. Jim was one half of the Speedway's "Dirt Doctors" with his brother Milen. They both prepared the racetrack on Thursdays and Fridays during the 1990's-2000's seasons. The racing association shares it grief with Shelli Peterson, Robin Lange, Alan Lange, Cindy Horn and Jim's wife Joyce. Jim's obituary will be shared when it becomes available.

The Speedway will be having their workers meeting on April 6th at 2pm at TL Computer Services on Broadway Ave in Slayton at 2pm. All workers from last year are encourage to attend and anyone who is interested in working, we are looking for some help in the grandstand ticket booth, the new pit crew parking area and a few more security people around the facilities. The grounds are too wet for test n tune Friday night. Rain is forecast for Friday night Saturday morning, rain Monday with cool Temps it will be middle of next week before we have a chance to get one the track. We are going to try and have test n tune next Friday May 10th and pushing season opener back to May 17th.
