Plans for the 2018 Murray County Speedway Fall are set for Saturday October 6th. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA/USRA Stock Cars, IMCA Sport Mods/USRA B-Mods/WISSOTA Midwest Mods and IMCA/USRA Hobby Stock Cars are each racing for $1,000 in their classes. IMCA Sport Compacts are racing for $500 and MCRA Pickups are racing for $200. Racing to begin at 5pm. Entry fees for each class is listed below, pit crew fee is $30. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, children 10 and under is Free.

We are extremely sad that we have to announce that the races for tomorrow are cancelled. We got a little over a half inch of rain last night. We have water sitting in the pit area. The track soaked up to much water and is spongy. We don't want to have a rough track and tear up your equipment. And we dont want to tear up the track and the fairgrounds. The start of the 2019 season has begun. Aaron and Bruce are moving 1,000 yards of new dirt in all four corners, this morning. Special "Thank You's" need to go out to the following: Rupp Construction for use of their bulldozer, R.A. Muecke Sand & Gravel for hauling the dirt to the track and to the Murray County Commissioners for their support. The 2018 Murray County Speedway Banquet will be held on Saturday December 8th at the 4-H Building on the Murray County Fairgrounds. Banquet letters were sent out to drivers last week. We are sad to announce the passing this morning of a great man, Hall of Fame member Gary Muecke. He was a driver, car owner and a huge supporter of the track. He helped many young racers such as myself (Aaron Betz), get started in the sport he loved. He helped form the Murray County Racing Association and helped open the track back up in 1992. The Murray County Speedway annual election for the board of directors and membership meeting will be held Saturday January 5th at 1:00 pm. There will be an election for three spots on the board of directors and review of the 2019 schedule for the speedway. It will be held at the Mason's Lodge, TL Computer Repair at the south end of Broadway Ave (North of the courthouse) in Slayton. This is real tough to say, knowing what is yet to come and getting tired of this winter. That in 60 days from tonight, the Murray County Speedway will be opening their 2019 season. From what it sounds like, many of the race cars are ready to go, but with several of the early season specials, already canceled, are just sitting in the shop. The Murray County Speedway will be holding their workers meeting on Saturday April 6th at 1pm at the Murray Lodge - TL Computer Services building on Broadway Ave in Slayton. Workers from the 2018 season and anyone interested in working for the track this season, is encouraged to attend. There are several areas, where we are looking for some new workers.
